Re: 1970 Jiang Chen brick from Bana Tea co.
I am thinking of putting in an order with Bana for the purpose of sampling this tea. Do people think it is worth trying?

I have never sampled tea that old before and it seemed like a good place to start.shah82 wrote:What made you think you'd want to sample the tea?

Ah...well, understand that it's that cheap for a reason, then.

Honestly, the chances are, you'll be happier with http://www.banateacompany.com/pages/pue ... Scent.html
or
http://www.bestteaonline.com/store/cata ... ucts_id=45
Not that I'm making guarantees, because I've not had these tea, specifically.
Or if you have not had it, just get two of http://www.themandarinstearoom.com/1985 ... h_p_1.html
It might be twice the price of that brick sample per gram, and at least five years younger, but I don't think you can go wrong with this.
