Buying tea in HK -- BUT REMOTELY.

One of the intentionally aged teas, Pu-Erh has a loyal following.

Well, lottery results are in. I sent her to Best Tea House, but she ended up at Ying Kee and got me a bing of "Special Old Puer" which is ostensibly a 2004 shou... We shall see!
(Thanks for un-misguiding me, everyone!)

I'll be interested to hear what you think of their 'special old' '04 pu erh, which is probably a Menghai cake (from what MarshalN has told me). Ying Kee have been around for quite a while, but don't sell anything fancy, just stuff for regular HKers to drink, but they aren't expensive, so I think you'll be happy. The tea might be wetter tasting than you're used to though! I have a bag of their loose 'supreme' pu erh outside.

shah82, me too. I need to pick some up! I actually went by their flagship store today. It's only a 10-15 minute walk away!

Ying Kee is always safe, so I think you did well braille. There is a lot of better tea to be had, but you definitely pay for it!

Hmmm. They have their own wrapper, but standard CNNP/menghai neifei.

Is there a date on the neifei? Can't make it out from here.

It should be ten years old--let us know what you think. :)
