HeHe, I know, that was one figure that sort of made me go . But for the most part, I don't think it detracts much from the article. I have noticed prices going down. Yeah!!

Indeed!Cinnabar Red wrote:With the world's economic woes, there will probably be more downward pressure on the price. Of course the same pressure will affect some of our disposable income. But isn't pu erh a necessity, like air or water.... ?

I think the price drop is happening with the new teas. I'm not sure what the farmers are currently selling their stocks of maocha for, but I've noticed quite a few shops shutting in Kunming and selling off their stock cheap. Also other shops have cut some of their inflated prices from previous years - I just bought some 2006 tea for around a third of it's previous insane pricetag. Still expensive, but much more reasonable in comparison.
Looking forward to seeing the prices of the new Spring tea.
With old teas - no apparent drops in price. There's just too little of it and an ever increasing market of people who appreciate it.

Like Nada, I also see the new teas dropping. For instance, YS is selling the Spring of MengHai for 18usd. When I bought a few beengs in '06, it ran me 38USD a beeng.

Perhaps not as thorough as the one you quoted, but. . . i thought I had remembered seeing something similar around somewhere. Finally re-located it.
