Down the rabbit hole

by rickardg » May 23rd, '14, 05:03

I started to drink loose leaf tea at about age two, but I didn't start counting it as a hobby until about a couple of years ago when I decided to do a small "Famous Teas of China" survey for my own amusement, having spent some time in China, unfortunately before I was into tea, but it quickly got out of hand with japanese tea, vietnamese tea, sri lankan tea, indian tea and so on.

I have a creeping suspicion that this site will lead much further down the rabbit hole...

And keep in mind that there are 'not famous' teas that also make wonderful discoveries, like a neat white tea I discovered grown here in California, an amazing oolong from Hawaii, and you didn't even mention Korea--which has a marvelous tradition of herbal teas in addition to C. sinensis....and I've heard of some very interesting teas from New Zealand, and Kenya.....

It is a very comfortable, accomodating, rabbit hole we have here--more like a proper hobbit-hole than like a little scrape in the dirt.
