It all started last year when I bought my first house using Redfin. They sent me a big gift basket that came with Numi teabags, David Rio Tiger Spice Chai, and some coffee. I was never big on tea before, but I realized there was this whole tea world out there when I opened the box. Green tea, white tea, rooibos -- I had no idea there were so many different types of teas out there! I only knew about Lipton and Nestea!
When the Numi sampler was gone, I tried the Costco green tea teabags and learned the hard way that overly hot water makes for a really nasty cup of green tea. A few weeks ago I had Diggnation playing in the background while looking for water pot reviews and it happened to be an old episode where Kevin Rose broke out his IngenuiTEA and was talking about Adagio. I decided that maybe it was time to move onto loose leaf tea.
I received the Adagio green tea sampler last week. At first I was totally disgusted, having chosen Gunpowder as my first loose leaf green tea experience. I made it again using less leaves and steeping it for a shorter period of time and I am beginning to really enjoy it. In the week that I've started drinking the loose leaf, I've become a total nut about teaware. I haven't bought anything yet other than a set of cups, but it sure is nice to look.
So anyway, that's my tea journey so far and I'm happy to be here!
It took me awhile to figure out why I didn't like green tea until I started brewing to properly! Still not my favorite I'd certainly never turn a cup away.
I just have to avoid tea ware. It'd be my undoing. I already spend so much on tea! I limit myself to collecting something nice from where ever I travel to.
