A straightforward roasted Taiwan TGY provides late night pleasure. I haven't had such a tea for months; so, a good simple roasted flavor tastes quite special. "Variety is the spice of life," & thanks to jayinhk I have variety.

I received my big box of samples I purchased from Jkteashop last night. I ended up having two secessions with my new tea ware as well.(cha hai and strainer)

First up was 2014 Spring Premium Mt. Wudong Mi Lan Xiang (Honey Orchid) Phoenix Dancong Oolong. This was my first Dancong ever! I wasnt sure on how to brew it and I think I was brewing it way too strong because it was giving me a stomach ache. Overall, flavor wasnt my favorite but its still a nice tea.

The next tea to go in the pot was 2014 Spring Anxi Xiping Ben Shan(Original Mountain) Oolong Tea. This is my "bread and butter" when it comes to tea. It brews up nice and mellow. Floraly, sweet, tasty!

Opened a new bag of roasted TGY yesterday. As it seems it is quite lightly roasted....

It is oxidised but not roasted to charcoal, so I think it is a lucky bag. :)
Usually, I prefer something more robust but this one has some complexity to it. It is pretty easygoing and relaxing for a daily drink.

I had so much tea last night that I honestly felt a little drunk. I had three pots by myself and enjoyed every minute of it. I started off with 2013 Autumn Anxi Daping Mao Xie Oolong Tea. Not bad. Light and refreshing green oolong.

Next up was some 2013 Spring Organic Imperial Organic Jasmine Dragon Pearl. Ive always enjoyed jasmine tea but found it to be a little too strong when its flavored. This tea was amazing. Light jasmine and sweet.

Last up was a tea I was going to wait to drink until this afternoon but after smelling it I had to try it. 2009 Spring High-roasted Anxi Tie Guan Yin is one of those teas you try that opens up a whole new world. The sweetness and delicious roasted flavor this tea produced was a mind blowing expirence. If it wasnt already 12:00am I would have had another pot of it. Caramel, sweet cigar, and coffee were the notes I was picking up. I went back to see if i could get more and its now off the site  Go figure.

2013 Tie Luo Han from Yunnan Sourcing. My favorite Wuyi from YS. A very balanced and nuanced tea. Low-mid roast with minerals and light florals and good finish. Very tasty.

Aged Taiwan oolong, the kind that is reroasted but still with a noticeable aged taste.

Winter Cui Feng Lishan from Origin Tea, a lovely tea that can be sniffed, sipped, slurped, but is too good for gulps.

Alternating infusions with 2009 Lao Ban Zhang--ok, one infusion of that for every 5 of 2013 Winter Cui Feng Dong Pian Lishan from Origin Tea. I'm babying the LBZ in a bowl, infusions about an hour with several batches of hot water to the bowl, and while anticipating those, enjoying the sweet spicy Lishan.

Mirka's large teaboat is crowded with treebark pot and FLower of Forgetfulness bowl from Petr, Koshin mogake kyusu, Cory Lum bildoro/LA cup, and Petr's yuzamashi.

Interesting finding some flavor parallels in the later infusions of the Lishan with the LBZ, and the Lishan is now on many minutes-long infusions too. It will be a while before I can compare the last infusions, but that's ok because at this point I'm well hydrated for midday.

had a drink..a little depressed. Can't sleep.

No nice Yancha at the moment...had to dredge up Seadyke yellow tin....

Filled 50s Shui Ping to full, get a boiling water and do Chaozhou style.

20ml lil Ruoshen cup....compressed like expresso.

Finished one session, feel so much better. :)

Taiwan Lishan Oolong this evening...

Visited teashops and wanted Dayuling..but the prices turned me down :(

Yellow-ish soup with a faint hint of a pear...never been a fan of Taiwanese tea but my body has a really good chemistry with it. :)
