I started down my tea path in 2009. I stumbled upon Shiuwen's 2008 Taiwan Wuyi when it was on clearance. It was wonderful, so I bought three pounds of the stuff. It has been ever present since (several hundred pots of tea), and numerous people have been turned onto tea by its charms.

Today I am savoring the very last pot of this tea. Fare thee well, my friend.

Ah, I fondly remember that tea. :) Her Taiwan WuYi is the closest thing I have to a daily tea - this season's is pretty good - back to more roasty.

Today, I'm drinking some Wu Ling that just came in the mail. It is light, floral, and quite green with a buttery aroma. Tasty!

I've been drinking a lot of oolong lately: enjoying the Li Shan from Mountain Tea, lightly floral; thought I'd finished the gorgeous fruity Hawaiian oolong, but discovered I'd stashed an extra few infusions worth in a tin here at work, so there are a couple of infusions to come; and today finished the Hankook Hwang Cha that is not as fantastically fruity as the Hawaiian oolong, but is fruity/sweet/earthy and never ever anything less than mellow.

Now it's time to decide what Hwang Cha to try next: more of the Hankook, or something different?

There's no question about reordering the Hawaiian oolong, although that won't be for a while yet--I only break it out when there's something to celebrate.

Enjoying a lot of oolong today--some Imperial TGY from Yunnan Sourcing, and now, a really fine session with Tea Habitat's 2007 Zei Shi, floral and sweet and did I mention floral?, so nice in the little 'yixing*' pot that lives at work and just gets used for D.C.

*made by someone who once saw a real yixing pot

Imperial Tie Guan Yin from Yunnan Sourcing, rich and sweet and delicious. A lovely session from a Petr Novak shiboridashi, and my Eiichi Rock teacup.

This evening I tried some Mi Lan Dancong AAA from Jing Tea Shop. It was fruity with a buttery, floral nose and a wonderful honey flavor. It also kept steeping on and on. I'll be buying some more in the future.

I'm drinking a Dan Cong from Enjoyingtea.com right now. I've only been brewing gong fu for a couple months, but I'm already starting to notice that my tolerance for bitterness is increasing, making this a more enjoyable tea than when I first got it. I put 3 grams in my 50ml pot and do short, 10 second steeps for the first 5, then lengthening it out as needed. Smaller volumes of strong tea are a good match.
