Oolong #8 Brewing?

by Borky » Mar 13th, '06, 10:59

I'm a bit confused as to how long this tea should be brewed for. An old post I saw said 212 degrees, 7 min and 2tbsp. However the tin I just recieved says 212 degrees, and 5 min.

Which one is it? And how much tea do I need to use? It doesn't look that bulky.

I'd recommend that you try 1½ teaspoons of leaves at 212º for five minutes. This tea, in my opinion, is close enough to a black tea to be brewed like one. It's a bit bulkier than most black teas, though, so I'd add a bit more leaves (1½ teaspoons instead of just 1) to make sure you get the most out of it.

Hope this helps!
