Suntory bottled oolong -- what kind is it?

Owes its flavors to oxidation levels between green & black tea.

Suntory bottled oolong -- what kind is it?

by Dizzwave » May 1st, '08, 17:18

Hello all,
When I was in Japan a little while back, we used to drink a lot of ice cold bottled oolong from vending machines. There was also the occasional oolong hai -- iced oolong mixed with shochu/soju (Korean spirits). I think it was usually Suntory brand oolong.

So..... does anybody know what kind of oolong that is? I'm not an oolong expert, but I'd like to be able to make a tea like that. None of the oolongs I've tried so far match that taste (though I've only tried a few -- TKY, some Wuyi, etc.). And for all I know, the Suntory might be a blend of different kinds.

Anyone know what I'm talking about? :)
Thanks,
dave

I know what your talking about - I got some last month in Hawaii. No idea what type of oolong it is, though.

<-- no help.
