Commercial Grade Phoenix Dan Cong

by Pentox » Feb 26th, '09, 13:16

I was wondering if anyone had a suggestion/recommendation/preferences for a vendor for commercial grade phoenix dan congs. I've recently been trying more Phoenix Dan Congs and wanted to run through a few of the lower grade ones first before splurging on the higher end ones from Seven Cups and Tea Habitat. So I was looking to try some well cheaper ones first.

I've been eyeing teaspring and teacuppa since they seem to have a fair selection of them, but didn't know if there is anywhere else I should be looking or not.

Jing tea shop has some. They also have an "everyday" grade which is surprisingly decent for the price.

FWIW, I don't know if it meets your price requirements, but Tea Habitat carries commercial grade teas, some of which are quite nice. This one is cheaper than most of Jing's offerings (though not that everyday grade one).

Teahabitat has a 2003 Dan Cong Cha Tou at $14.50 for 2 oz. Well worth the $$ and you're getting the real deal.

I have been very happy with my Dragon Tea House DanCongs

I have seen several favourable posts on these boards (and elsewhere) for DTH DanCongs.

The only disappointment I have come across was from "Thanks" on the Da Wu Ye, yet I personally like the Da Wu Ye.

I do like the TeaHabitat Old Bush offerings but find the DTH much more affordable and still very enjoyable.

I also really like some Hou De DC's as reported here

but the Hou De prices are nearer to TH & 7Cups I fear!

Yeah it was a let down after having Imen's commercial grade Da Wu Ye. I do love the texture of the tea though, and the leaves are gorgeous. Once in a while I get in the mood for it. Good price, though.

I'd have to second the vote for Tea Habitat's "commercial grade" dancong. She has some great stuff for very reasonable prices.

I have to disagree with you. I got some of the Ba Xian and Spring Blossom not too long ago. The Spring Blossom was obviously scented, and there just wasn't much to the Ba Xian; it's certainly not up to what I've had from Jing or Tea Habitat (I'm referring to the cheaper ones of Imen's).
