Hobby:-

-Hunting for teaware and tea is fun. There are just so many varieties. So many shops to window shop. There is always something better or nicer out there.

-Collecting them seems rewarding as it gets limited overtime and may gain value. Not to mention the taste changes better too.

-Drinking it is good for health. Even if were to get drunk on it is cheaper than liquor.

-Meeting new people that shares the interest.

Tea is my life! My entire world revolves on tea.

The only thing in the world I am as passionate about is my daughter.

For me it's probably somewhere inbetween "hobby" and "passion".
I am still relatively new to tea and am therefore very enthusiastic about it and am trying to learn as much about it as I can right now (and drink a lot of it obviously! ;) ). Therefore I voted "passion" instead of "hobby".

Also, along with the passion for tea goes the passion for teaware!
It is just a pleasure to sip a nice sencha that has been prepared in a good Tokoname kyusu out of a striking Hagi cup.

So yeah, I guess "passion" is about right.

4th infusion of Sencha Miyabi soon...

Have a nice TeaDay everybody!

The closest for me is hobby. I'm also new to tea so am having fun purchasing and trying all different kinds to see what I like. I'm also preparing them different to see what I like. Just yesterday I received a bunch of Adagio teas. I tried the Sweet Potato Pie mixed with a little vanilla and spiced apple chai. The sweet potato flavor really comes out after steeping!

Waiting for my water now to make Raspberry Champagne tea (from Octavia Tea) which has a bit of jasmine in it.

Went with "hobby". It is hard to describe. It is simply an integral part of my life...... and it relates to me professionally as well (teaware maker).

Tea is.

best,

I think tea is quickly becoming a passion. I don't drink as much tea as I used to because of time issues but I think about it many times throughout my day. Their as so many fun things about tea, teaware, brewing techniques, culture, history and of course, its delicious!

Tie Luo Han this morning.

I checked Other, because it is all of the above!!! :D

At different stages of life, it has been a passion, a hobby, a beverage, a habit.

As John Baymore said, "Tea is."

Definitely a passion. I pursue it with much more passion than a hobby. I am constantly reading, looking at, thinking about tea, and enjoying it.

Baozhong from Floating Leaves Tea currently in my cup.

Lets see it is a hobby that I am incredibly passionate about which I use to relax, and I quite enjoy it because it is a beverage and I have a bad habit of liking to sip on things all throughout the day. As I have a habit of sipping on things all day and I like tea, well I guess you could say tea has become a habit. Oh, and it enables my teaware addiction!

I put hobby as I'm new to the finer points of tea drinking. Learned about English tea and it's brewing tips about 20 years ago. Now am learning about green tea and bought my first loose leaf oolong tea yesterday. So not into it enough to call it a passion, so hobby does well for me.

I'm really enjoying reading about the different tea ware, I've seen most kinds in stores and second hand shops but til now had no idea what most were for.

Now that I've learned to know what I'm seeing, I've found some great deals at local thrift shops! Hope the general public doesn't find out soon, or those great deals won't be around long!

I am also fond good coffee too, bought my first french press a while ago.
Oh yeah and good food. :D

I´d call tea a passion...I spend so much time drinking tea, reading about tea, talking about tea, thinking about tea....watching teavendor sites and sighing because my bank account doesn´t have enough money in it....

You could also say I am somewhat obsessive about tea.

Anyway teaday started with a couple of bowls matcha matsu...not sure what I will brew up for the evening yet...
