Fave 5 general types of tea ... for instance, Japanese greens ... or simply greens. So general or very general

Fave 5 specific selections

Fave 5 from each general type or as applicable
This carries over into Sunday!

Personal fave 5 general types ... really hard to narrow this down. I am actually very indecisive.

Japanese greens
Chinese greens
Taiwanese green oolongs
TGY
Darjeeling ... though pu-erh is working its way very close to Darjeeling ... in fact maybe this should be pu-erh.

Talk about indecisive. Well, I still have Sunday to decide on these!

This question tends to give me some headaches :D

I am still fascinated and want to try everything.
My big delights are Matcha, Japanese greens, Some Chinese greens, Sheng Puerh, Wuyi Oolongs and ... (oh already five)

In fact I cannot give a rating. It is like with children if you are asked "who do you like more?" :)

In my cup today is a 2006 Guoyan "You Le Meets Nan Nuo" from YS. A real nice sample - I think I have to think about a whole cake :)

I'm the type that always orders the same dish at my favorite restaurant, so I'm the same way with teas for the most part, but I'm willing try any type of tea. So my fave 5 teas (all Taiwanese high mountain) would be:

Lishan oolong
Shan Lin Xi oolong
Da Yu Ling oolong
Alishan oolong
Dong Ding oolong

In general, I like Taiwanese oolongs best followed by probably Chinese/Taiwanese greens, then Japanese greens.

This morning drinking some yummy Alishan oolong from Floating Leaves Tea.

I heard ArtMom misses Sunday Bruch. Yesterday I saw a frittata on Cooking Channel and just had to have one.

Image

Inside: red and yellow pepper, onion, French style jamon, grated Parmigian.
On Top: Stewed crushed tomatoes in garlic and olive oil. More Parmigian
In my belly: Several slabs of Jamon that -uhhh - didn't pass QA...

Tea - Light roast Dong Ding
This one is definitely not made from the Prettiest Stuff on Earth, but it tastes alright.

Favorite Five:
Tie Luo Han
Lao Cong Shui Xian
Aged Puerh
High Fire Anxi Tie Guan Yin
Yummy Buttery Jade Tie Guan Yin

Wow, that's really close to what mine would be. I guess I'd remove the TGY and replace it with young Sheng because I'm strange like that. The high roast TGY would be next on the list, though.

Finishing the tea weekend with some Dragon Well ('premium organic' from Wing Hop Fung), and before that some Diamond TGY from Norbu. An oddly abbreviated evening-only tea day, but I still got in one favorite tea.

Thank you Adam and Brandon for the very appetizing photos!

Had all weekend to consider my fave 5 specific selections and still struggle since I seem to just like so many Japanese greens, then other types follow. Here are a few top spots.

Tsuru Jirushi Gyokuro - O-Cha
Yutaka Midori
Sencha (varietal) 7132 organic - a current fave
So many different sencha fit this spot
Long Jing - no specific selectin at the moment
Taiping Hou Kui - Cha Wang
Lu An Gua Pian
Zhu Ye Qing

Ooops, more than 5.

Great TD on Sunday, began with Zencha's Sencha the Ultimate (prepared it gyo style) which could easily fill a fave spot 5 and then Kaoru Organic Matcha from O-Cha with the Mrs. Next up was Kumpu asamushi from Ippodo. And finally 7132 from O-Cha.

I've been experimenting with a lot of different teas this year, but I'm not sure of my top five at this point.

#1 is Tai Ping Hou Kui from Seven Cups
#2 is An Ji Bai Cha (2010 from Jing, but when the 2011 harvest is in then I'm going to try Seven Cups)
#3 is Bai Hao Yin Zhen from Seven Cups

I think by the end of the winter there are some puerhs that would be #4 and #5, and possibly push the Bai Hao Yin Zhen down the list.

Great tea is so much fun to drink and to learn about. All those people in the supermarket trying to decide between Lipton's and Red Rose tea bags just don't have any idea what they're missing.

Top 5 dominated by puerh i would think, though i probably couldnt list specific favorite teas as i have tried so many this year. Its funny because originally i had no intention of trying puerh because of some of the things i had read but i got a free sample in an order from norbu and that gave me the courage to participate in the pu OTTI and i discovered i really like pu.
