Although I have a healthy respect for heights, I also love the exhilaration.

So, I chose ...

Top of a world class roller coaster (taller and wilder the better!)
Canopy of a rainforest
Treetop of a giant redwood (I have always loved the redwoods)
Top of a skyscraper (especially the mega skyscrapers)
Regional scenic lookout (higher the better)
Mountain tea gardens (of course)
Everest (fortunately lacking the 40-50 K USD to pull this one off )
Orbiting earth (including a spacewalk!)
Beyond, where no man has gone before (this does not rank quite so "high")
Other

For other, I would choose to add jumping from a plane with a parachute, a para-sail, hot-air balloon, and atop the bridges of the world (I reallllly love bridges)!

Perhaps I could have been a B.A.S.E. jumper ...

I have a completely irrational fear of heights, even the thought of high places. So thanks for 'elevating' my blood pressure Chip

Sipping some Shui Xiam from FLT this morning, almost the last of it I love this stuff and want to try something similar for my next order. Any recommendations????

I love getting above things, by climbing hills and hiking up mountains, flying in helicopters and airplance, and if I could do it without the horrid motion sickness that would surely be my fate, would LOVE to orbit the earth.

I spent a lot of hours in helicopters some years back, and loved the relatively low-level flights, how you could see the countryside from high enough up that fields started to give that patchwork quilt appearance, but still low enough to appreciate things like individual homes with their holiday lights. A couple of months ago I was lucky enough to take a helicopter tour in Hawaii and saw so many waterfalls in one little valley that I couldn't fit them all in one picture

And the simple wonder of working in a building with a handy view of a palm tree, through a window right a the level of the crown

has given me a renewed interest in visiting the tops as well as the ground level of forests, especially redwoods (the best places on earth are redwood forests, after all). Rainforests, tea gardens, love trees in high and low places. Haven't yet made it to any tea gardens--would LOVE to visit the tea trees in situ.

Today, enjoying Honyama shizuoka sencha from Yuuki-Cha. Hmm....that's only a couple of hours away from where my friends live, in suburbs of Tokyo....maybe I can visit those one of these days.

I have probably been as high as I'll ever go -- on land or in the air!

I went to the top of the World Trade Center; the top of the Empire State Building in 1947(when it was the tallest skyscraper in the world); I've flown in a hot air balloon; helicoptered over the mountains in Tennessee, Hawaii, and Alaska. Also, have flown in a single engine airplane to the Bahamas; flown on international flights; stood at the rim of the Grand Canyon to watch the sunrise; and, of course, stood at various vantage points in many mountain ranges.

Now, I soar high only in my imagination while sipping my favorite Teas.

I am trying to remember one of my favorite quotes from a Kerouac book (I believe Tristessa), sadly I must have been the only one to like the quote because I can not find a reference to it online to see if I can get it exactly correct.

But the just of it is "When you level your mind the earth will be level even that of mount Sumeru (Mount Everest)."

I like natural heights, trees and mountains, not only for their views but also for the life that they support. You can find as many as 500 species of birds in many single locations in the Amazon rainforests living in different strata from the ground to above the treetops. The plant life that lives at high altitudes is highly specialized too, where artic conditions due to height severely limit things the number of things that can survive.

Today is becoming a `Day of Tea'. Hou de's shui xian again this morning, followed by Maiko's kotobuki matcha. Brewed Tea Gallery's lapsang souchong for my wife to poach pears in, had a little Kirameki with lunch, the Mandarin's 2008 shui xian dancong lies somewhere on the TeaHorizon, and a gyo might make an appearance before the day is done.

Skydiving is fun but base jumping is way too risky for me. The fatality rate is very high, especially when you consider the fact that only very experienced skydivers practice base jumping.

Once upon a time loved roller coasters and such. Somewhere along the way acrophobia kicked in, which seems to get worse as I get older. So, I had to go with top floor of my home, which is a single story dwelling.

I'm a newbie still in the early tea sampling stage. I received an order from Upton Tea today. I sampled two of the teas I'd ordered throughout the day - China Pu-Erh Leaf and Scottish Breakfast Blend.
