thanks. they live quite a long time, so in general i try to discourage people from getting them if they aren't ready to commit to 16-30 years with an animal. for the first two years i had the chinchilla, i was living with someone with cats. they don't get along so well. the cat would always stalk around by the chinchilla cage and would desperately try and sneak in the room. once the cat snuck into the room with the chinchilla out and the chinchilla ended up jumping on the cat's back and barking at it before the cat ran away. i will say chins are the sweetest creatures and very smart.

well, 30 is really the max. 20ish is about average.

Giving Ancient Tea Flowers another shot, from Rishi. They are different than the Upton ones I had from a few years ago, but pretty similar. The caramel aroma is less noticable.

Anyone who gets this, you have to use a lot of flowers, easily 2 tablespoons, which is 5 grams.

Glad you mentioned these cause they were on my mind yesterday. Got a question for anyone who's tried the Ancient Tea Flowers (any brand). I tried Chamomile for the first time last night & it confirmed that I do NOT like to drink anything floral. Have wanted to try the Tea Flowers but after yesterday's experience, am a little hesitant. Does it taste or smell floral?

I had the Upton that I had for a few years. I lost interest in them for a bit. Then I got them out again and they were still very good. Very caramel like, not at all floral.

Currently trying the Rishi. These are more subtle, but maybe they become more flavorful with age? Similar to the Upton, nothng floral about them at all.

I like them for nights since they are supposedly very low caffeine, but I am not certain of this.

Chinese dragons are often benevolent, Long Jing for instance. Maybe this is depicting Long Jing?
