80/90's Yixing & Hand-signed Hokujo (free tea w/ purchase)

Well, I'm back at it again. Went through a recent stint where I somehow managed to acquire several more Yixing, thinking I'd give it another go. Sadly, they've just been sitting in my cabinet, untouched for some months. I plan to use the money towards something I'll actually put to use.

I'm selling all of the following pots at original cost. 2-day international shipping on me. I'm also throwing in 100 grams of EoT's 3-leaf Liu Bao with each Yixing purchase. I'm shipping out tomorrow and likely will wait to ship, hopefully several at one time, come Friday/Saturday.

First pots up I'm only selling as a pair - two 200ml 1980's Yu Hua Long Factory one in original boxes from EoT. Note, the clay colors are slightly different from one to the other. On the one lighter in color, eyes slightly off-center, both the head/neck and tongue pop out. The other pot is slightly darker in color, head is better sculpted, but unfortunately the head doesn't come out and the tongue slightly moves inside. It is what it is. I mainly bought them for decoration.

Each was $176, so $352 for the pair. Both brand new, unused.

I got into a nasty habit of purchasing two at a time, due to the great disparity from one Yixing pot to another, in general. Double the waste to just be sitting on the shelf.

Next up are two pots listed as a 120ml 1980's Factory 1 Heisha and 125ml 1987-1992 Factory 1 Heini 204, both also from EoT. The 120ml (on left) is a touch darker in color and the pour speed was about 20 seconds when I ran water through it awhile back. The 125ml had a 30 second pour. I realize it's slow, but someone may not care.

The 120ml was $190 and the 125ml was $177 based upon exchange rates on date of purchase. Both pots are brand new, never used.

This next one has a unique egg shape to it. A 115ml 1987-1992 Factory 1 Zisha 201 from EoT. Pour is decent. Think 15-20 seconds. Can't recall offhand and I prefer not to run water through these again and have to wait for them to dry before packaging and shipping out. Want to get em out of here while in the mood.

Oh, and this is gold-sticker, from late 90's I believe. $177 at time of purchase. Brand new, unused. ~~~~~~~~~~~~~SOLD~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~

Next up is a 90ml "Green Sticker" (late 70s/early 80s) Yixing Zisha 211. Note, this one does NOT have the green sticker on it, but it's from that period. The clay on this one feels very smooth. I believe this is due to a higher firing based upon my limited Yixing knowledge. Lid top is a bit loose. Pour speed was 11 seconds, tested twice. Pencil writing still intact upon the flat bottom. Brand new, never used.

$344 at time of purchase. More pricey given it's age. ~~~~~~~~~~SOLD~~~~~~~~~~~~~

I was dabbling in higher-end teapots with these last two, this one in particular. It's a 200ml Hokujo mixed with Kaolin, porcelain-like, bits throughout. This pot was hand-signed. Apparently, only a handful of these are made each season.

I purchased this from Takeyoshi, vendor name tokonamejp, on ebay. This pot retails at $500. Others are currently selling at this price. The two I saw listed on AN went above this amount. I am selling at $400. Simply put, I am more comfortable using kyusu valued at about half of this amount. As evidenced in the picture, some leaf has dried and stuck in filter due to my lack of recently using it.

Last thing to mention, my photos do not do this pot justice. I have several stock photos which I can send along. It's a very beautiful pot! You can even see the pottery lines running symmetrically up the pot. Hard letting this one go, but I can't justify keeping it when I've got other kyusu I reach for more often.

Forgot to mention, rather than the Liu Bao, I am giving your choice of one 100 gram bag of the following, brand new, still sealed, with the pot:

Not attempting to get a bump here, but I feel funny using the Hokujo without saying something.

Long story short, I'm accompanying some friends for a sushi lunch tomorrow. The one has been excited to try shincha. When I told her I was bringing in Harney & Sons teabag sencha due to the hassle of dragging everything in...well it didn't go over too well. Alas, I've decided to crack open the '17 Yutaka Midora and this is the only pot filter I have onhand which works well for fuka.

I may put it back on the market, but pulling for now, at least temporarily. Have no fear, Yixing's will remain up. Thanks!
