Tea Canisters

by Samovar » Jul 30th, '07, 07:59

I am looking for an air-tight stainless steel canister, to hold at least 4 ounces of loose tea.

I found this one. Does anyone have this? Your thoughts.

Thank you.

The best ones I've found are the double-lid tins from The Tao of Tea -

Second to that (actually equal in quality and function) I would say the Silver Star canisters from SpecialTeas.com -

Then the pry-out lid tins from Upton -

If you don't mind spending some money, the ceramic canisters from SpecialTeas.com are very nice.

They're awesome :) Always order a couple more than you think you'll need ;)

Autually, I'll need eight. I want to replace all of the canisters that I have because too much air gets in.

Let me know how they work out for you. Maybe I'll need to upgrade as well.

Stash carries something similar in green. They used to have two sizes but now only have the larger ones. They are larger than the ToT ones, I believe.

I just ordered 10 canisters sith the screw top lid. I decided that this would work better for me since I store my teas in the kitchen.

I also take some teas along when on vacation and I think that the screw top lid is more secure.

How did these work out for you? I am looking for canisters/tins for tea but also for spices ... I have not found many spice containers that I like

All good ideas here.
