When it comes to oolong, puerh, black tea, red tea, yixing teapot is unbeatable, it simply makes better tea, the taste is superior, and the tea lasts longer. The gaiwan is a useful tool when drinking tea that has no teapot dedicated to it.

I use mostly pots to brew in. That may change.

Like Geekgirl, I brew my Chinese green teas in a gaiwan, Japanese greens in a kyuusu.
Except for my matcha -
that gets "brewed" in a
chawan
So it's impossible to pick a single option. I love all my tea vessels!
