Little Pig Tea pots & Other addictions

by Little pig » Jun 6th, '09, 16:03

Hi my name is Jean Ann.
I make and sell pottery as Little Pig Pottery & tea pots are one of my favorite pots to make. I also love to use them. There are two in my community studio which are well used--especially on Wednesdays.

You will find my tea pots on two web sites:
1. Under the dragonfly section on my home page at Littlepigpottery.com
http://www.littlepigpottery.com/index.p ... d0dc9538c5

2. In the cobalt dragonflies section of my Etsy shop
http://www.etsy.com/shop.php?user_id=5894246

If you are curious about my artistic process I have a blog
http://littlepigpottery.blogspot.com/

Here are a couple images of my dragonfly teapots.

If you like what you see or have questions I look forward to hearing from you.

Hi Mrs. Chip

by Little pig » Jun 8th, '09, 11:19

Hi Mrs. Chip and thank you for the welcome.

There are some beautiful things here--I feel a bit out of place with all the lovely traditional Asian teaware. Got me thinking though. I could do a few cups with my take on Asian-- with dragonflies and shino of course!

I am still unsure on how to post pics in this thread from here on. . . do I do "post a reply"?

You are quite welcome!

Boy, I would love that!

I know there are teachatters on here who do not prefer the Asian teawares, so hopefully they will check out this subforum. Just because something is not someone's preferred style, does not mean they cannot appreciate the artistry and beauty of it. Again, nice work.

YES, just click on post a reply and insert your photos in your post. If you still need help, contact Chip as I defer to him with this!

nice stuff!!

you got style. we need more pics to get a good representation of you work.

the dragonfly interests me i do an impression type that uses 3 seashell types ...wings ...body and ....head. i like the type you do it gives more detail.

do you have cups to go with the tea pots? or any with the dragonfly on the inside.i can't make them with it inside.

i am thinking of getting a thread going were everyone here posts there favorite set that they made and call it the set thread. let me know what you think.

and please put more photos of you work up.

More pics coming I just slow as mm.m...

Thank you for the drop in & compliments Mrs chips & coloradopu. I do have a few teapots it just takes me time to figure out the photo/web stuff.
Image
Here are some pics of my quirky little red girl. She holds about 16 ounces and dispenses tea in a small stream (kinda fun). Her quirk is you have to put a brake on her lid with your finger as you pour.
Image
As to cups. I make them. Most are what I consider coffee mugs--but I've got some tea cup ideas since visiting teachat. (BooYa!) I've got a dragonfly teacup in mind. so I am excited & headed for the studio from here to work them out.
Image
It also looks like I am going to have to figure this editor out because I'm not liking the left formatting of these pics.
Image
In regards to coloradopu's set thread question Yes, I am interested I just need some time to get my feet under me here--more pics. . .more pics

'Quirky little red girl', boy she's a cutie! I really like what you did with the base.

And the color, well, I like all the 'Hot' colors, so red definately fits that category.

Hi Jean Ann, welcome to TeaChat!

I think your pieces are lovely! I'm sure there are plenty of us who will appreciate seeing your work even if it's not Asian in style - looking forward to seeing more photos!

Red Bubble Cup--Copper red continues

by Little pig » Jun 9th, '09, 10:04

Hi ho and good morning--we had a thunder storm last night but all is beauty now. Thank you for the drop in geekgirl and geeber1. Love your little monkeys geeber. Would like to hear the story.

Geekgirl I love your eye and am in awe of your camera work. (if you have any constructive crit for she who has limited camera--feel free to send them my way)

I am posting one of my favorites to drink tea (and that other hot beverage which shall remained un-named) from this one. Love the way it cradles in my hand & how it keeps things warm.
Image
I call this kind my bubble cup. this one is fairly large (12 oz.) by my drinking standards. Personally I like them smaller for frequent refills.

You will find one very much like it with 5 views at the link below

More veiws of Dragonfly Pots

by Little pig » Jun 10th, '09, 08:20

Good morning teachat reader. It is a gray one in Ohio--quite nice actually. It also is a long day for me as there is a gas kiln waiting to be fired today. That usually takes 10 - 12 hours so I will post and run.

I bring you a couple more views of one of my dragonfly teapots. Image
This one holds 24 ounces and is listed on my Etsy site where you will find more views.
