Continuing the alt-rap theme from some other posts, I'm a big fan of Death Grips. I tried to find a track that was even remotely tea-related and this one comes the closest- mentions aftertaste.

The chili peppers, I presume? Of the hot and red variety? Haha, I listened to them more in the past, not that often anymore. I'll listen to their older stuff from the 90's at work occasionally when I want to get pumped up

My problem with RHCP is that every song they make sounds the same.. And personally only a few are really good.. Its like U2.

 yes. That's why I lost interest in them I think. And I think they got jaded and boring after californication. And I never liked U2

I agree with you on both bands, but that aside; its very hard to like any band with a lead-singer like bono. :P

Getting into Steely Dan lately. Think I am going to call this the "Summer of Steely"! I'm really digging the complex arrangements. I also set up a Steely Dan pandora station which is cycling in some great Micheal McDonalds and Boz Scaggs.

John Coltrane - A Love Supreme. The second track, Resolution, specifically. It's been awhile since I've played it and the sax player on my gig tomorrow wants to play it, so I've been revisiting that and a couple other tunes tonight.

I've been listening to quite a bit of Morton Feldman's later chamber music. Especially his "Piano and String Quartet." https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=0_Q-1u6sNgQ

Also, Tim Berne's Snake Oil https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=2J2GgHVqNAg, and Anthony Braxton's mid-80s quartet (I've been reading a book from this era about his composition/improvisation concepts) https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=BanmKL7ZtKU
