Hojo - Kasuga Zairai sencha

by NOESIS » Oct 24th, '11, 17:01

I'm placing a tea / teaware order with Hojo Tea, and was considering trying the 2011 Kasuga Zairai sencha. I have been very happy with past orders (teaware and various oolongs), but I've yet to try any of Akira's Japanese green teas. By chance, has anyone given this particular sencha a try?

David R, the Kewane Zaira is from last year's harvest, and the Kasuga is from the current harvest. Have you tried both? If so, which did you prefer? (I'm assuming they're very similar in flavour profiles)

Fireflower, thanks for the feedback. The price of the Zairai looks very good compared to Hon Yama and Hebizuka senchas that he carries.

Sorry for that.

I did try a sample of the Kasuga Zairai, but for an unknown reason, I didn't take note about this tea. Still, I remember that I prefered it to last years Zairai but I have to say that my technique has significantly improved since last year. Sorry that I am not able to say more...
