Has anyone ordered any shincha this season?
I will probably order some from o-cha. Looking for more suggestions? Any recs?
Re: Shincha
I posted about ordering some Kirameki from o-cha in the general tea drinking thread. I still don't have it yet, but it's been one of my favorite shinchas each year. I definitely recommend it, especially if you like uji-cha. A warning however. If you're used to buying teas from o-cha, I'm guessing you're more of a fukamushi fan. The kirameki and other high end teas from Tsuen are all asamushi/futsumushi.devites wrote: Has anyone ordered any shincha this season?

Re: Shincha
Just had my first taste of shincha this year. Tried the kirameki by way of O-cha. It's an excellent year for it. Much better strength than the last two year's versions, and not fussy at all. Got it right my first try, and got three excellent brews out of it, all about the same strength. Brewed hotter too, at 176f. There's definitely some shincha grassy bitterness to it, but it's a sweet bitterness and it tastes (and smells) wonderful. Quite a good tea.
