Hobin teapot capacity

by rainmanne » Sep 15th, '17, 06:54

I'm looking to buy a hobin/houhin or shiboridashi teapot for gyokuro. I wonder what volume should be enough for 2 people. These teapots are generally smaller than kyusu teapots with a handle.

With Gyokuro it's OK to have extra space since the water is pretty cool already. I usually steep 80ml in a 160ml shibo from O-Cha, or in a 120ml from Greenwood Studio.
