High mountain matcha - tastes like high mountain oolong?

by kongni » Aug 19th, '08, 14:39

I came across this image on Maccha Moose's photostream on Flickr--

From what I gather, this is a matcha that tastes like oolong and is being produced in Taiwan. Does anyone know more about it? MUST try!!! :D

Ummm well the White Tea Matcha was rather vile in retrospect, so
it's hard to get excited about this one. But yeah, I'll try it, of course.

Never heard of white tea matcha either.

Hmmm...Maybe it's better to leave matcha production to the Japanese :)

Thanx for the tip, I had considered ordering this one too. Yeah, Tencha Matcha seems to be where it's at for ground-up tea, at least in the current century...

Not listed as matcha, but rather ground white tea.
Nasty either way.
