HEG grade?

by andy825 » Jan 23rd, '09, 22:17

We have a tea in my shop labelled "green tea in HEG grade". It is from Nepal. Does anyone know what this might designate? I haven't been able to find any information about grading green teas.
Thanks!

Andy.....I am not 100% sure by any means.....the only think I can think of is that the "H" stands for Hyson......as far as the E and the G go...I am clueless....I spent about the last 30 minutes intesely searching the internet and some books I have and can find nothing of the sort in terms of grading...even on Nepalese tea websites.....I found other teas online from nepal that were labeled as HEG grade but it said nothing in the descrption of the tea as to what HEG actually stood for. Sorry I couldnt be of more help!

Actually Nick, you got farther than I did. Would you mind linking to some of the other sites that sell the "HEG grade" tea? I couldn't find any besides mine.
