That's the cutest reason for an unprocessed order I've ever seen

90's FengHuang Dancong - "Jing Zhu" Golden Pearls

Good tasty stuff! First dancong I have tried from houde.
Miss the long wirey leaf, but on the upside I don't have to carefully pack and tap.

What stood out most was the sweet spiciness in the aroma. Never smelled that from the dancongs I have tried so far.

Went 7-8 brews, then one last 10 min one to squeeze out any possible bitterness (there was none). Brews were pretty uniform all the way to the end and the flavours did not really shift much. Could have pushed it one or two more, but I was ready to go to sleep!

5g, 100ml purion straight into matching cup, hot hot water, lots of pouring on top, 5 mins or so in-between each infusion

I've made many orders from Hou De over the last couple of years, and the service has always been exceptional and the teas have always been wonderful.

They have a nice selection of older pu'erh. Items may tend on the expensive side, but the range and experience is usually worth it.

I bought A-Li-Shan Winter Petals from them about five years ago that were, essentially, tasteless. I tried EVERYTHING, every brewing trick known to man (I might have even invented some new ones). I thought the owner seemed like a sweet guy and had high hopes for the tea but I never ordered from them again (it seems to me that something else was included in that order and if so, it wasn't memorable even for being bad). There are so many high-mountain oolong vendors out there that it didn't seem worth it to try Hou De again. I realize that my own experience doesn't seem to be the norm.
