There's not a lot of info about quality or provenance out there so it seems like it's mostly trial and error. I don't think bad rooibos or honeybush would be particularly bad so much as just bland.
Can anyone recommend any sources?
I've tried Frontier Organic and it seems alright. A bit weak maybe.

Buy loose leaf or super grade cuts rather than the teabag dust; those usually taste much stronger and less bland.
