I don't return to USA until March 9th, but I am going to be away from my base in Thailand for a week; so am packing tea & valuables to store w/ a friend for that week. What do I see?
I have bought 1800 grams of tea & 20 pieces of teaware. Yes, it is too much.
I am offering teaware for sale w/ purchase of tea to help pad boxes; or tea purchases alone. Prices below plus actual cost of shipping which from Thailand is not too bad.
Porcelain thin-walled gaiwans which are white w/ painted flowers & hold 100 ml (around 4 oz.) & are 3-pieces (come w/ underlining saucer). 4 available at $7 each

Buying teachatters: Update: Packed, weighed, etc. but not sent today. At post office I was told price of postage much higher than website. It took a while, but I eventually understood it was because I had taped the boxes. I have not mailed from Thailand & memory did not serve me completely well. I had remembered that boxes need to be tied w/ string; I did not remember that taping them also puts them into a much more expensive category. Seeing me struggle, friend from Tea-Village who had given me a ride on his motorcycle, took over & quickly bought new boxes rather than have me try to neatly pull off tape. Got to window & postman demanded I put return address on boxes. Anyway, to all who have ordered, the boxes will go out Monday morning except for order of gaiwans which I will ship from USA because to pack them right requires too much weight to make sense. Why did I fail to get this done? I could not remember my address in Thailand. I moved to this room 2 weeks ago, but my mind went totally blank. Friend put stickers on that he had in his motorcycles's bin, but then it did not matter, post office package window was closed.
Chip et.al. Let's close this teaswap. My luggage will be a bit lighter & roomier. I will look at my tea & teaware when home & probably put some things for sale again then.

Thanks, MacGuffin, My writing might make it seem more dramatic than it is. I am calm yet disturbed I suppose. I mostly get upset that I forget things like the Thai distaste for tape because they like to look into the boxes. Most importantly, Vee advised me to pay the extra $2 for tracking because those boxes arrive & are not robbed & it comes w/ $15 of insurance. Anyway my friend Vee from Tea-Village had a good laugh that I did not know my own address. I had to smile myself.

I am still selling the Himalayan Orange (HOR) organic black tea from Jun Chiyabari, Dhankuta, Nepal $6 per oz., $180 per kg. & 3-piece glass gaiwans for $9 each.

Until the 26th of August, teachatters can order (HOR) the Himalayan Orange organic black tea of Jun Chiyabari from Dhankuta, Nepal. I sell it for only $6 an ounce plus postage.

On August 28, I depart Boston for Thailand & Taiwan for 2 months. Besides meeting w/ vendors & farmers from those countries I will be spending a few days w/ farmer/vendors from Yunan China who are producing organic tea. I will probably be the only amateur at the hotel where several producers & buyers w/ shops etc. will be conducting testing, & tasting & transactions in jin & kilograms not taels (37.5 grams).

At that meeting & elsewhere, if I find wonderful tea that I buy in quantity greater than what I can use, I will post the opportunity for teachatters to buy some of that tea.

I would prefer to ship directly from Thailand for tea bought there so I am not carrying too much tea from Thailand &/or China to Taiwan. For tea bought in Taiwan, I would as teachatters from outside USA to order in time for me to ship from Taiwan.

I have 8 samples of tea from Taiwan & Yunan which I am letting recover from their long rides on airplanes before I taste them. I will use these samples to guide where I go to taste what, but all my decisions & purchases are based on:

1. I see the container from which the leaves preparing tastings are taken.

2. If I decide to buy, I see leaves from that same container are what I am getting.

3. That bought tea is given to me immediately even if tasting & buying is just starting.

Again, the HOR is available now until August 25 & unavailable until I return to Boston (beginning of October).
