I found this YouTube video on Tea Drunkenness recently and they seem to echo what is being said in this thread. Seems like the aged white tea is a winner and not on a full or totally empty stomach. Search youtube for Tea Drunk and you will find the video with Don Mei.
I love watching Don Mei's videos! :)
I originally got into gong fu style due mainly to watching him demonstrate and discuss it. If I'm ever in England (perhaps some day) I'll make it a point to stop by his tea shop.
I highly recommend his videos to everyone.

Some do actually! I think because they drink tea when their stomaches are empty, that's why they get drunk. I've seen the same situation with coffee.
