Plain white porcelain kyusu (100-120ml)

by ahasja » Apr 4th, '16, 10:02

Hi am looking for a nice traditionally formed white kyusu made of porcelain with a volume about 100-120ml having a direct hole filter (or at least not [!] having a metal mesh strainer). Would love to hear your recommendations!

Thanks

I didn't search the site extensively but this was the closest I saw at artistic nippon.
http://www.artisticnippon.com/product/k ... eapot.html It's a little larger than you were looking for but I've got a feeling it's going to be quite hard to match all of your requirements. Also as it says the size may vary slightly so you could ask for the smallest if he currently has more than one.

Thanks a lot - I directly wrote to artistic nippon. Maybe they can help me find the "perfect" kyusu for me.

Kyusu teapots that small can be difficult to find. How adamant are you on the size? That is, what's the maximum volume that you would accept?

Tead Off sells works by excellent Korean potters. He recently posted some new work and there are 2 small kyusu's available.

I have several pieces by Kim Eung Chul and they're beautifully made.

I ran across this one some days ago.

Slightly smaller but handmade or maybe Inge can do something for you.

Here's one that's 130mL: http://www.sazentea.com/en/products/p77 ... kyusu.html

The funny thing is I found this completely by accident. I guess that's what happens when you spend a couple hours looking at teaware online.

Anyway, if you need something slightly bigger, there ya go.

Sorry, just saw your answer now. Wonderful piece - thanks for finding it. And again a wonderful reason to spent money! :D
