Blast from the past! Yixing forgery is rampant in 2017 and the 5000friend pots were treated with whatever to make them look aged. There are huge markets full of fake antiques on the Mainland. Big business!

Hey J., what do you think of this baby?

Luni pot

Pity the size is a bit biggish for my current needs otherwise I'd go for it.

Hi, I need some opinion from more experience people...

Are these real Jiang Rong items from this seller?

http://www.ebay.com/itm/5000friend-Attr ... 0011.m1850

or this one

http://www.ebay.com/itm/5000friend-Inte ... 4406828f6f

This seller has a lot of Jiang Rong items, but I don't know if they are originals or maybe this can be copies? How many of each , of the same model can exist? What is the real value of JiangRong item? Is ebay a good place to buy those kind of items?

There are not a lot of info on internet... Or forums like this. Please somebody help me.

Thanks.

In the eye of the beholder (and wallet size), I suppose.

Most likely replicas. BUT that vendor sells good pots though. The cheap ones brew excellent tea.

No Jiang Rong, Gu Jing Zhou let alone a Shi Da Bing seal on any of my pots.

Nice sheng brews I'm getting out of this baby. :)

Sorry, but that pot shown here is about as fake as it gets.
Like all of this seller's pots.

It's a cheapo new pot, and not 1970's as advertised.

Fake.

Price alone is a dead giveaway. That's less than some modern pots! If you want knockoff F1, I have a box full that I'll sell at cost price!

Right, yes, cost. I was curious about visual features. Always looking to learn more!

Because the Chinese imitate so well it is necessary to only buy from reputable sources. Doctored clay is a big concern.

Very often the knockoffs have the extra characters along with the Yixing China stamp. They try to fake higher value pots. Apparently some of the knockoff F1 duanni pots are actually made with good clay as they sell at quite the premium on the mainland market! :o

Yixing 'imitation' has been going on for centuries. Imitating F1 is the natural next step in that progression, especially in a place where intellectual property rights have just caught on.
