Yixing Pot F1 small damage - ok to use?

by YunnanLarsson » Mar 24th, '20, 12:42

Hi, I bought a Yixing F1 from EOT and the buying experience what super good. My only concern is that it is a small damage inside the pot. The pot is supposed to be from the green label period so it is an old pot, and I dont expect it to be in mint condition. My question is more related to if it is ok to use? My idea was to use it as my everyday pot, therefor I need to ask your opinion.
Or should I try to repair it?
Many thanksin advance!

This looks like a tool mark rather than damage. It’s purely cosmetic.

Many thanks, and good to hear! It looks like an airbubble that has burst/cracked, and clay is comming out in very fine dust. So, my concern was maybe more on a health side, thinking of potential toxins. But maybe that is a very small risk, and the amount is nothing to worry about.

Toxins? You don’t need to drink the dust. Just clean the interior of pot before using.
