Re: Please help me verify this teapot's clay
I am also fond of that "rustic" look, it reminds me of an avocado. Very pleasing to the eye.

... spout opening looks kinda low?
I like the pot shape and to a degree the cannon spout ... but I don't think in this combination.
However, it goes without saying that I am certainly not an expert on the subject.

Actually, that's almost the best feature. For flash infusions. Really nice find.Chip wrote:... spout opening looks kinda low?

Besides function of the spout, the overall balance is very good.

Re: Please help me verify this teapot's clay
I should have said the spout tip being low in relation to the the lip of the pot ... not sure if that makes any difference with you statement, Brandon?
I thought the spout tip should be about the lip of the pot? I remember someone saying otherwise that is a fatal flaw.
But if you mean the cannon spout being great for uber fast pouring, definitely. Same is true for kyusu of which I do have a few

I was just going to comment, but then I read yours B and I have to admit it was very similar to what I was gonna say. I can't get enough of those cannon spouts and feel like you are in much better control of infusion time with them, especially since this is a Xiao Pin and most likely would be filled to the brim with dry leaves, in which case flash infusions are a must. Great comment B I have learned much from you!brandon wrote:Actually, that's almost the best feature. For flash infusions. Really nice find.Chip wrote:... spout opening looks kinda low?

Haha that's what I'm talkin about. Wuyi all day! I could never become bored of my sweet sweet Wuyi. It really is like a love affair. Hope to share another cup soon. Looking forward to sweet cherry syrup madness.brandon wrote:Don't thank me, TingJunkie is our low-slung Wuyi canon specialist.

Wuyi with the permission of a top dancong. That underlying mineral note sends me straight to the shores of nirvana/nibbana.ImmortaliTEA wrote:brandon wrote:Wuyi all day!
