Which tea for my 70s Hong ni, new qingshuini, 90s Zini?

by aristoitle » Aug 27th 20 3:04 pm

Hi all, this is my first post in the forum!

I have just embarked on this very dangerous hobby...

So I have 3 pots:
1. A 90s F1 Zini from white label period
2. A xi shi F1 early 70s Hong ni
3. A modern qingshuini

I'm trying to wade through the mass of contradictory information online to figure out what to dedicate the above to.

Basically, I love puerh. Applying the principle of "using the most porous clay to mute bad notes", would you suggest:
1. F1 Zini for shou
2. 70s Hong ni for young sheng
3. Modern Qing Shui Ni for aged Sheng

Or would this be a waste of my rather expensive 70s Hong ni and should i dedicate that to something else instead (what, then?)

Any advice most welcome, thank you!

If the HN is a tall pot I'd use it to brew young oolongs preferably from Taiwan.

Otherwise quality Wu Yi or Dancong.

You can brew puerh in anything really; it's a very forgiving tea.
