heating with new teapot

I just received my new Jenear teapot and can't wait to use it. Do I heat the water in it on the stove? Does it matter if the stove is gas or electric? I know this may sound like a silly question but how does one make tea in these glass pots without breaking them?

prepare your water in a seperate container, then pour the heated water into your jenear pot. the only thing i can think of that would break it was if the jenear pot were cold. if you get really serious about tea i would buy an electric hot water pot. i just got one and i really dont know how i lived without it.

And then when you cross the line from "serious about tea" to "addict," you can shell out for a TriniTEA and wonder who you lived with an electric pot

but i enjoy brewing tea! trinitea kinda takes the fun outta things wouldnt u say? not to mention i spent 3 hours at the mall yesterday looking for a pair of shoes, which in the end cost me 50 bucks. its gonna be a while before i can afford to spend 75 dollars on a teapot. =(

Hey! I'm a twin, too! (although not a member of the B52's)

Unfortunately, the Jenaer Glas teapots are not meant for stovetop use. They are simply meant to prepare, steep and serve tea. We've got water kettles that are specifically designed for stovetop use, though (both gas and electric work well!).

Not at all, it's just a different kind of fun. It's quite entertaining to hear the beep and run into the kitchen to watch the boiling water pour into the infusing chamber and the leaves swirl and roil, and it makes such a satisfying "Woooooooosh!"
