Aged and New Sheng in the Same Teapot

Hey Everyone! :)

I have an Yixing pot that is very expensive. This is it!

I bought it from White2Tea. It's a 4 oz (~115 ml) pot supposedly made with old Zi Ni from a mine that's been closed due to governmental restrictions.

I've been using this beautiful little pot for Sheng Puerh, my favorite "genre" of tea. However, I've been using it for teas ranging in age from Spring 2015 all the way back to the "early 1990's". My question is, is this okay? Do other people use pots for all ages of Sheng? If this isn't Kosher, should I back out now and just use the pot for teas of a particular age?

Also, for those who know much more about Yixing than I do, is the shape of the pot decent for Sheng? It seems to be doing alright so far, but I'd just like a second opinion. :)

IMO, all systems go with this one. I regularly use a zini for all sheng.

One of my Pu Erh pots i only use for aged Pu. Another one i use for all Pu Erh's. Purple Clay is generally good for Sheng, IMO. So i think as long as you don't have other pots where you can reserve one for aged and one for fresh Sheng, you are fine.
As to expensive, the pot looks decent enough to me. But expensive in terms of Yixing doesn't even begin to start there... ;)

aged and fresh sheng is all ok in the same pot

but just dont throw in too much shu into the pot, shu pu on a pot over long term usage can become rather tea stained and a bit damp smelling even with drying and cleaning after use

I have one pot used solely for aged, one used only for young, and one that gets sheng of all ages. The pot that I use for all ages of sheng is my favorite :D

Indeed.
I forgot as i only drink Shu when i have a cold and can't taste anything.

This is a great point. No shu in a sheng pot. My shu pots smell very different than my sheng ones. Wouldn't want those aromas mingling with the tea while being brewed.

As for the pot, enjoy it very much! I own one of Fan Jianfengs pots, (I believe he is the maker right?), and it is very well made. The clay also is very nice (for modern yixing). And yes, quite expensive for some folk. I got the QingDuan, and it put a deep dent in my pocket. But I only made the splurge because I got 3 free bings in the deal :D
