Teaware on trip to Japan

by absence » Jun 9th, '18, 06:06

I'm going to Japan, and want to visit some shops to look at teaware (tetsubin, kyusu, chawan). I want to avoid the most touristy stuff (e.g. I saw the same tetsubin in different cities last time I was there) and find something realtively decent, but at the same time avoid the very expensive high-end art pieces (though I might go to such a place just to look). Does anyone have suggestions? I'll be around the Kansai area (including Kyoto and Uji), and will try to stop by Tokoname on my way to Tokyo.

Take pictures and get souvenirs! Never been to Japan, but in Korea I would often check out large supermarkets for cheaper teaware for and tea accessories as they are more common there.
