New kama (help needed)

by Olivier » Jun 3rd, '16, 16:45

Hi all,

I write seldomly in this forum, and I apologize that so far it has been to request help from more knowledgeable than me people.
I have a second-hand chagama that is a charm to use, so because I needed a second one I luckily bought a brand new one without thinking I don't know how to season / clean in for the first use.
I was told all it takes is to boil fresh water as many times as needed to get rid of the inner white "paste" and "brush" the outside.
If anyone is aware of good practices to properly put a new kama into service, I'd be grateful for the help.
Thank you.
Olivier
