Your teapot is certainly a Kutani teapot, maybe first half of the 20th century (I'm not sure for the date, for its seal is not in my database).
I'm sure someone else, more knowledgeable than I am, will easily confirm my thoughts.

I always thought that it is satsuma because of the fact that it is ceramic rather than porcelain and the way that it is decorated

Huuuum, I think you're totally right... It's certainly satsuma ! I stupidly didn't notice the circle with a cross inside, in the bottom seal...williammimi70 wrote: thank you
