A friend who was in Taiwan recently was telling me about "wooden pot stands" which he said many people were using to keep/display their pots on when not in use.
I'm just wondering has anyone come across these and if so, where I might find them. I've had a look here in Japan and can't find anything at all.
Just now, I did a google search for "gong fu wooden pot stands" and found a site which looks like based in China:
http://chinesetea.kungfucha.net/shopdis ... ng+Teapots
This site offers the stands as optional extra to their pots, but it doesnt appear that they offer them as a stand-alone product
I showed a photo to my friend and he said they are very similar to the ones he saw in Taiwan.
Can anyone help me here - know of any retailers or other online suppliers of such things? In the meantime I'll follow up with this website (Kungfucha Chinese tea)

I'd be interested in a source for high quality stands. The ones in Chinatown here tend to be pretty janky.

I love those. I use them for not just teapots, but just about everything. In China you can find them in all sorts of shapes and sizes, so they are fun. You could probably get some made by some of the wood turners on Etsy.

I've started making my own due to all of the small cedar and cypress trunks that we have laying around. it's slow going because they are completely done by hand, but it's enjoyable.

Oh ... sounds very cool! Cedar and cypress stumps (and especially the roots if you have ripped out trees) can have amazing wood shapes and grain. Hope to see some pictures one day.bryan_drinks_tea wrote:I've started making my own due to all of the small cedar and cypress trunks that we have laying around. it's slow going because they are completely done by hand, but it's enjoyable.
