Re: Today's MatchaWan :D (new name, but tea's the same)

I think I am going to cave and need to buy matcha soon, as I really want to take a Chawan made by me, myself, and I for a test drive. It oddly really catches my eye on the shelf, and I want to see how it brews tea. It is a bit irregular, but I think it ended up rather nice in the end.

You'll have to use an app, if only to resize the photo I think. I don't know if Tapatalk does it.

Thx D, after my post, I bought Tapatalk, but so far, no luck.
So - I moved the pics I took with my ipad to my laptop and I'll upload that way. Here they are.
So here are two chawan from the show at the gallery.

I think all the pieces at the show were wood fired - no glaze - all ash.
So amazing and beautiful.

Sorry that I was unable to share more photos of the above two chawan - they aren't mine - I took those photos at a show.
Here's the sibling of the "perfect" chawan however, that I did manage to acquire - used it this morning as you can see.
Matcha this morning is Wako.

Thank you D!
I was actually present when Gary threw this chawan.
His work is typically quite symmetrical (I shared two of his bowls on the previous page). I expressed interest in a more wabi sabi form. So there was a collaboration of sorts that resulted in the chawan shown above.
I think we might collaborate some more in the new year on more.
cheers.

I love that second image! (well both, but #2 is my fav)
Makes me want matcha right now!
Looks like Henriette?
Gosh - I just love your image of your matcha next to that stunning glaze.
Wow!
(and I think I spy an Ippodo canister back there)
