I just received my new kyusu from artistic nippon. It was shipped on the 23rd and just arrived about an hour ago. That I received it today is truly astounding, as usps doesn't usually ship on christmas!

They delivered it to you today, on Christmas day??? That is astounding indeed.
Awesome Mogake, and this one is a pretty good deal too.

A friend of mine used to do a well-paid overtime shift on Christmas delivering express mail packages. He particularly enjoyed the astonishment of the recipients when he showed up with their goodies on this day....

One of 3 of these "Mr. Goodwill" kyusu floating around TeaChat. Nerikome, carved, cut. Unknown maker, sasame screen.

I love the design on this--so simple and elegant! Not to mention the really intriguing ripples of blue on the glaze underneath ....

Obviously this is the superior Mr. Goodwill Kyusu!
Bryan, I have looked at this Momiji (Japanese Maple) Kyusu quite a few times! Really nice.
Thanks Adam and Bryan.

Have any of you ever tried soaking your Tokoname kyusu in a solution of luke warm water and baking soda for a thorough cleaning? I got this tip from AN and was wondering if any of you have experience with it.

Why would you do this? Are you speaking about an old kyusu that has some bad odor or some other kind of problem?
