Hi everyone,
Just finished firing the kiln. I was planning on firing Friday, but between the heat, thunderstorms with 6" of rain possible, Mary Ann's class reunion... it didn'y happen until today. My Friend Chris from just over the border in Pennsylvania came up to have more experience with wood firing. Started at 6 am with the candling and finished a fantastic firing at 8:30 pm... I'm tired. But I will unload it soon and post some pics as soon as I take them. Sorry it's so late posting this...

Chris stoking so I can go eat something.

The load all ready to go yesterday.

During the firing, this is a reduction cycle where there is more fuel than oxygen... makes the colors do very nice things... and for the record, I make a neutral carbon footprint. I am putting back the same carbon/dioxide that the trees took in, it's "heavy" and goes back into the soil and trees, not up into the atmoshphere as pollution.
some tea bowls and a tea pot in this picture. I'm off to bed.
Cheers,
Bill
