Huh. Never seen anything like that before (the white streaks OR the pot for that matter)! I suppose it could be wax, but I kind of doubt it. Was the pot very shiny before you boiled it?

Have you tried to get rid of the streaks since they appeared? Looks like a job for Mr. Clean Magic Erasers.

No not very shiny. I tried only a couple of things since, on the bottom of the feet: I applied a little ketchup (works on copper) but I'm going to wait until I can concentrate on the matter at hand.

Normally I prefer undecorated pots, but these little enameled birds and bees with bamboo just spoke to me. It's from Hou De. Muo Lu Ni, 160 cc. It's a great little pourer - I can't make it dribble. I plan to use it for sheng pu.

Actually it looks a lot like the teapot I recieved recently...I was told by a vendor I trust that it looks like it was buried in a pile of ash and kitchen scraps to make it look older and that I should scrub it down very well with dish detergent and then soak it in a bleach solution to clean it...and then soak it in boiling water until the bleach smell is completely gone before I use it again.

Just got these 3 this week, modern Zhuni teapot made in this year. Clay was from 90s. The seller claimed that the clay is pure zhuni and not mixed.

According to the seller (if I interpret her mandarin properly), this is semi hand made from a factory which produces mass teapots. The design is custom made for them and clay is selected by one of their contacts who is well known for making pots. She told me the name of the person, but I couldn't remember the name.

These 3 pots are marked with the shops signature and the year it is made on the outer bottom. The person (unknown person) who did the pot has a signature below the cap. All the pots are made by 3 diff person.

Dedicated for Young Raw Pu-erh (1 to 10 years)

Dedicated for Aged Raw Pu-erh (Above 10 years)
Size: 160ml


All 3 passed the:-
1) Tilt 90 degrees and cap won't fall off
2) While pouring, cover the hole on the cap and the water would stopped instantly
3) While holding the hole on the spout, turn the pot upside down and the cap would not fall off
4) Pouring the water out in less than 10 seconds (without leaves)

Very nice pots! The texture of the modern zhuni clay is lovely.

I have a thing for handles that are well proportioned and smoothly joined - these tend to be a little sloppy for the cheaper pots. So even for semi-handmade, the workmanship looks good!

I had been eying that pot on Hou De for a long time, and only recently noticed it had disappeared from the site. I'll be curious to know how it brews when you get some experience with it.

I was in Kuala Lumpur over Chinese New Year for the annual family reunion and made an unplanned trip to Mid Valley Gardens shopping mall for dinner one evening. Some of you may know that the building is also where Hojo has his Malaysian shop...

Didn't have the presence of mind then to take pictures of the shop (too busy browsing in tea heaven till called away for dinner) but I did manage to make a new addition to my yixing collection.

Clay: not identified - di cao qing or possibly zhuni?
Size: 170 ml
Age/Year: 80's
Walls: Thin
Pour: Strong +/- 9 sec. Straight / No drips.
Tea Pairing: aged oolongs was recommended but not had time to try it yet!

These aren't teapots, but they are Zisha and I thought they were kind of fun.

I'd like opinions, if you please, for the business card holder. What do you think of the red tassel? I'm not sure if I like it. It could be easily removed. Should I do so?

I was feeling a bit creative, and decided to make a little Yixing porn... All of these pots were acquired in a little over a year after buying my first one. Let this be a warning for those getting in to Yixing!
