Tea experiments I. Are you content generally to find a good tea and accept it, perhaps buying it over and over?

I am pretty content when I find a good tea, often buying the same tea over and over and over

Currently in my chawan, matcha from O-Cha, a wonderful, lovely gift from a special friend.

Anybody else notice that Inguna chose to use 'GREEN TEA' in the cup icon on TC's home page....but of course, what other choice would work  :?:
Have a FAB TeaDay Everyone!

I'm doing a lot of searching right now... trying to taste as much new stuff as possible. However I am willing to stick with something if I find that I really like it-- though I'll still keep searching-- I won't stop trying new teas :)

This morning I had a bad reaction to my tea, it made me feel really nauseated, so I have missed out today!

HEY ... why do all of the new TeaChat icons have GREEN tea in them :?: :?: :?:

I suspect that our dear moderator must have had something to do with that!

I'm always looking for new tea, but given my meager tea budget, I rarely buy new tea, haha.

Keemun in my cup today.[/i]

I needed a middle option...I do have some faves, but I feel as if I've barely scratched the surface of what's out there, so some looking is still in order!

Started this morning with my fav black Ceylon in my travel mug. My tea buddy at work brewed up some fruity flavored thing...it was like kool-aid and when she wasn't looking I dumped it down the drain.

Here is a picture of what's in my cup now (6th steep of gyokuro) along with 20% of my daffodil crop.

(yes, that is a drop of tea on the petal).

Hope everybody is enjoying a great spring day,
Dreamer

I explore new teas whenever I get a chance but also there's a few I keep coming back to...the Keemun family, Mim Estate Darjeeling, Yunnan Black Tea, Wu Yi Bei Dou (I need more!), Ying De Gold, Jasmine dragon pearls, and single bush Milan Dancong...some of these are pretty limited production but with so many types and not actually drinking a lot of tea each day they last a while :)

I had Keemun Hao Ya today. :)

I wish I could boast such far reaching influence, but alas, Iguna just has good taste.

I hope you are feelin' better and will have a better TeaDay tomorrow!

LMAO!

" My tea buddy at work brewed up some fruity flavored thing...it was like kool-aid and when she wasn't looking I dumped it down the drain. "

I started to snicker while sipping tea and nearly spit it all over my keyboard when I read this line.

I have my favorite blacks and oolongs that I grew up with and have loved for decades, but I try to keep an open mind in trying new flavors while training my palate towards unfamiliar teas. We humans thrive on daily habit - the familiar- it's built into our ancient hardwiring because the unfamiliar carried an element of risk.

No wonder then that most of us have our 'tried and true' teas that we turn to for comfort during our breaks in a hectic day.

I had to laugh, and then thought I hope this teabuddy does not find TeaChat

Or, we could hope that they DO find TeaChat and stop drinking kool-aid tea!
Dreamer, I cracked up when I read that!

Somewhere between options 2 and 3. I am very happy with several of the teas I have, and do restock; but that doesn't mean I'm not willing to explore and try new things. So at any given time, about half of my tea consists of tried-and-true favourites while the other half is pure exploration.

P.S. The title of this poll made me think of this kind of "experimentation", though:

I have a few select favorites that I will consistently re-order but I usually have my eye open for new tea, I want to try them all!

I'm on a constant search for new vendors and new teas. There are probably less than 10 teas that I'll reorder.
