cheap teaware in mae salong thailand?

by mr. Less » Mar 25th, '09, 21:19

hey people,

at the moment i am staying in thailand, in mae salong the oolong tea producing area of the country
They produce two brands of oolong over here that are quite nice.
also there are many teashops with tea and tea ware
the only thing i regret is that the tea knowledge here isnt what i thought it would be, but hey i cant complain

my actual question is this.the teaware is extremely cheap over here, i payed some 6 dollars for a small yi xing pot
now i know this isnt probably good quality, but what do you guys think would it be possible for me to find some good stuff among these pots
the one i bought had a good pour and all but i dont know about the quality of the clay
but evereything is very cheap here in thailand even the kamjove stuff
so maybe i should just go crazy and buy a bunch
what do you guys think

If it is anything like the Vietnamese tea sets they can be gorgeous. But they can be fragile, have you considered how much space and weight allowance you will have when you return.

Buy too much and belgian customs could start charging you more on your return!
Best wishes from Cheshire
