As a kind of follow up to the thread above, I would like to know how does one select and identify good Zisha Teapots.
Recently I purchased 2 teapots. Both of them are drastically different in clay and construction. For this discussion purpose, I have posted pictures of both the teapots. From the concentric circles of the black teapot, it seems like it has been thrown on a turn tray, whereas the light brown one looks handmade or molded.
Both the teapots smell very different as well. Probably due to the kind of clay that is being used.
Based on the features of 2 teapots, which is better and why? Anyway to tell what kind of clay is used for each one?
If more information or details are needed, do posts on this thread as well.

Its going to be difficult judging a teapot from pics alone. The real measure of a pot is how it brews tea.

Well, I am glad the teapot did not disintegrate into soil after pouring hotwater into it.
On a serious note, anyway to tell which is a better teapot between the 2 shown? And if so, why?

Well, it's like comparing apples and oranges. The one on the left is a wheel thrown pot, probably Taiwanese in origin. The right one is not. They're rather different and made with entirely different materials/process.

using blogger right? there is an issue with image links and blogger ( read about it on some blogger forums, everyone was having that issue).I tried using mine and had the same issue..sometimes they would show sometimes they wouldnt..randomly. I ended up uploading pics to my image directly on my regular website. I think flickr and photobucket works ok too
