Shipping Issues?

by rjiwrth » Mar 27th, '09, 19:35

I ordered a gong fu tray from a popular vendor on E-bay on March 3rd and have not received the order. I asked for a tracking number and was told they don't have tracking numbers. I voiced concern early last week about my order and they said I should give it another week. I gave it 9 extra days and still nothing. I have not heard from the vendor since my last inquiry. Has anyone ever experienced this problem and if so, how did you handle it?

thanks...
Rebecca

It's still March, if the tray is coming from China you may be a bit impatient.

I wouldn't worry for at least 5-6 weeks.
I once had a shipment gone lost from Yunnan Sourcing and they sent me a replacement order without any hassle.

Agreed, it can take several weeks if it is shipping from China. Sorry. :/

Thanks, and point well-taken. I realize it has a journey. I have ordered from China and Japan before, but it has never taken this long. I have never ordered without a tracking number, though. Perhaps a bit of anxiety is looming due to that fact. Hence, the reason for this post

The blessings of Paypal

by Intuit » Mar 27th, '09, 21:16

Paypal customer service is very good about addressing product issues and refunding money if you don't receive an order and the seller hasn't responded to your request/email in a a reasonable period of time after the sale transaction has occurred. The catch here is that shipping from Asia can proceed at a snails pace.

Yes, we all sit by the door pacing, waiting for our tea trays, hagi, oolong, pizzicato five cds to arrive.

In the fullness of time, it will come.
Tom, you pretty much tagged the real issue here...thanks for normalizing my experience! I nearly fell out of my chair laughing when I read your response because I see most of us anxiously (dare I say neurotically?!) anticipate the arrival of our beloved goods.

I was wondering about that. Thanks! The whole Paypal thing is new to me, so it's good to know.

A little Sufi dancing would certainly channel the energy, I'm sure! Rumi philosophy can be grounding, certainly. However, impatience also motivates and for that reason, I tend to be a lover of it and the lessons of the journey

Now, off to brew some HK Special and watch the ice come down as it covers my trees in a sparkling cloak. Happy Saturday, my fellow lovers of tea.

take note those are usually working days stated by the post office...
so SAL 3-5 weeks basically means 1-2months

I don't know why, but the same shipping method does have big variation in speed. It's not the high season now (compared with Chinese new year), but recently all my SAL orders from China took 3-4 weeks (or a bit longer than that). In January and later last year, my SAL orders took barely 2 weeks. So I guess as long as it's not yet 6 weeks, just wait longer. And for mail by sea, 12 weeks could be normal.

They lost it..

by rjiwrth » Mar 29th, '09, 05:15

I finally received a response from the vendor and their response was, "I checked the parcel and can't find it". I tried to get clarification about if it was even sent in the first place. They did offer to send one or refund my money. This is such a popular vendor but I don't think I will be doing business there again. I just had that intuitive feeling that something was wrong with this. As I said, I am not new to ordering from China or Japan, but something with this transaction did not seem right. Guess I'm on the search for another tray - took me months to decide on the one I chose!
