BTW, thank you for the kind comments today, shucks ...

I am drinking a blend of around 7 or so different grains all "roasted" in my hot air popcorn popper. Except one that came from Hankook and I don't even know what that one is exactly. This is a pretty tasty blend.

I finally figured out a good use for my small tetsubin ...
blah blah blah SENCHA blah blah blah!!!

Thanks all for the birthday wishes and that beautiful slice of cake!
I feel like I had the pleasure of sitting with all the chatters for tea and cake on my birthday!

:D

Thanks,
Dreamer

I've got a lot of help on correctly brewing teas but what stands out most is advice about temperatures. It was last spring in fact when someone gave advice about the brewing of shincha that involved lowering the temp. That changed my experience of shincha from one that was reminiscent of munching on dandelion leaves to the transcendent experience of liquid spring that it is meant to be.

No liquid spring for me today though. Gyokuro Kin this morning and Keemun this evening.

The best advice I've received was about brewing. I had never before used a gaiwan, or even held one in my hand. I don't know that I would have dared try it without all the great TC advice. What a revelation!

(I should also mention that Victoria absolutely fed into my developing oolong addiction.)

The "best" advise I have picked up from TeaChat was about brewing - temp, time, pay attention!!

Monday was a clean out the tea drawer at work day! Finished off the Margaret's Hope and almost killed off the Pai Mu Tan (bought more of each today!).
