I had the exact '98 Bienvenue Batard by Ramonet a year ago.... epic wine! Took hours to open up. It even beat out a Coche handily! I can't count the number of nights where my wine friends end up drinking Pu-erh while we wait for the wines to open up.
BTW, blending Bordeaux and Burgundy is as much of a sacrilege as blending Yiwu with High Mountain Oolongs! However, there were a few instances such as '01 Pichon Baron and '01 St.Clement Star Vineyard Cab where the nose of the wine reminded me of Grand Cru Geverey for the first 30 minutes before the wine opened up!
