Free Foil Bags for Tasting Hosts

by bi lew chun » Apr 7th, '09, 01:26

Since it may be a while before I have an opportunity to host a tasting, and I don't want to be a mooch, I'd like to contribute by offering sample-sized zip-closure foil pouches to any hosts that want them.

I recently did a product photo job for a tea vendor and bartered for pouches, since they're difficult to obtain in smaller (<1000) quantities. I'm not 100% sure that I'll be able to get more of the silver bags (pictured); the alternative would be slightly larger black zip-closure rice paper bags that are to some degree air-permeable, but still suitable for short term storage.

If you're interested, let me know so that I have a sense for how many to order. I'm going under the assumption that most tastings require ~30 bags, but if you need more that's fine. I will try to accommodate as many hosts as I can.

You probably have a case of those green bags stashed away. :)

As for the job thing, it was a fun little challenge--creating a ghetto "light box" setup, shooting to someone else's specifications, marveling over some really awful dragonwell, getting a nice supply of black tea that I wouldn't have added to my cabinet otherwise. Once I see that the photos are in place and they didn't butcher them in editing/cropping, I'll tell you who the vendor is. Maybe.

Umm ... guilty? And some like this I bought from TeaSource before I knew of my benefactor.

Humm ... Upton uses those bags for samples. And has some decent black teas I'm told.
